Stomp Round Leicester this summer with Lexi the Elephant!
A herd of vibrant, artist-designed elephants has arrived in the city centre as part of Stomp Round Leicester – a brand-new, free, family-friendly art trail running throughout the summer holidays.
BID Leicester is proud to support the event, which has 40 colourful elephant sculptures placed at key locations across Leicester city centre and beyond. The trail, created by LOROS Hospice in partnership with Wild in Art, aims to raise funds to support the children’s hospital while encouraging people to explore the city in a fun, creative way.
BID Leicester is sponsoring one of the unique sculptures – Lexi the Elephant – which can be found proudly standing at St Martins, outside Middletons. Designed by talented artist, Jenny Leonard, and decorated with eye-catching patterns, Lexi is sure to become a favourite among trail-goers this summer.
Jenny said: “I am a community driven commission artist always pursuing collaborative art projects that bring people together. I currently draw live illustrations for virtual online events and take illustration and painting commissions. I specialize in murals and site specific public art for the community. I have exhibited over 80 sculptures on public art trails and have collectively raised over 250k for partnering charities. My best sale at auction for Wild in Art was £25k for the flagship Elephant designed for The Big Trunk trail in Luton in 2021.”
The Stomp Round trail will run until Sunday 28 September 2025, and is available to follow on the free My Leicester App, which makes it even easier for families to explore the route, discover sculpture locations, and unlock fun facts and activities along the way. The app also includes exclusive city centre offers and trails to help make the most of your visit.

Not only does the trail offer a great free day out in the city centre, but it also supports a fantastic cause. At the end of the event, many of the elephant sculptures will be auctioned to raise money for LOROS.
