BID Leicester have worked alongside renowned Leicester based creative agency Rock Kitchen Harris to create a stunning new TV advert showcasing the festive season in the city and focusing on the theme of togetherness. The advert will be broadcast on all Sky channels between 2 November right up to Christmas Eve.

To create the cinema-quality video, RKH and BID Leicester worked with local businesses, including independent bottle shop and bar 45 West and Leicester’s very own modern British brasserie in the heart of Leicesters Cultural Quarter, Orton’s Brasserie. Featured locations include The Highcross, the Clock Tower, Town Hall Square, St. Martin’s Square and The Lanes. There are also fairly light studded shots of the Ice Rink, which will be open on Jubilee Square from 2 December to 4 January.

From artfully capturing the hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping to the warmth of catching up with old friends in cosy pubs – the TV advert tells the story of people enjoying themselves together during the festive season, all under the glittering glow of Leicester’s Christmas lights, to spectacular effect. BID Leicester Director, Simon Jenner, says about the project:

“We’re proud to have worked on a project that celebrates Leicester by showcasing the vibrancy, variety and beauty of the city, as well as spreading some Christmas cheer.

The City looks fantastic at this time of year – with Christmas lights, festive window displays and a range of Christmas activities taking place across the city, including the Ice Rink on Jubliee Square, funfair on Humberstone Gate and Winter Tableau in the Town Hall Square, and the advert showcases this beautifully.

The TV advert also showcases Leicester as a great place for Christmas shopping, featuring big brands at The Highcross through to boutique independent shops selling unique products and gifts. And finally, as Leicester is renowned for it’s incredible range of options for high-quality food and drinks, we wanted to feature some of Leicester’s restaurants and bars, of which there are hundreds throughout the city.

Delivering this excellent piece of promotional activity was also a great opportunity to work with homegrown creative talent in the form of RKH, who created a high-quality, memorable and evocative piece of work.”
