Leicester city centre is set to come alive with the sound of festive music once again as BID Leicester brings back Festive Jams for a second year – a joyful programme of free, pop-up musical performances taking place throughout the Christmas season. From soulful gospel and smooth jazz to vibrant bass and lively mariachi, the city streets will be filled with feel-good energy every weekend in the run up to Christmas.

Designed to surprise and delight shoppers, families, and festive night-out crowds, the series will bring bursts of live music to key spots across the city including St Martin’s Square, Haymarket, Highcross and the Haymarket Balcony. Visitors can look forward to performances from much loved acts such as EAGA Gospel Choir, King Brasstards, The Fourmasons, Mariachi Loco, and The Salvation Army Band.

Speaking about the return of Festive Jams, Simon Jenner (BID Leicester Director) said:

“Festive Jams is all about creating those special moments that make Christmas in Leicester so memorable. The city centre is already a magical place at this time of year, and adding live music brings an extra layer of warmth and atmosphere. We’re proud to support local performers and give visitors even more reason to spend time in the city, shop local, and enjoy everything Leicester has to offer.”

With a vibrant mix of genres, the programme is designed to offer something for everyone. Expect soulful harmonies from EAGA Gospel Choir, upbeat brass and funk from King Brasstards, the smooth swing and sparkle of The Fourmasons, the joyful Mexican flair of Mariachi Loco, and traditional Christmas favourites from The Salvation Army Band.

Whether you’re Christmas shopping, enjoying a family day out, or meeting friends for a festive evening, Festive Jams promises to add music, magic and sparkle to your visit.
